Tesco Dundee Train Station

Tesco allocated KDM a project to establish a convenience store at the Dundee train station. The goal was to provide convenient shopping options for commuters and travellers passing through the station. The project involved various construction and installation works to create a fully functional store within a limited timeframe.

The scope of work for this project included the following activities:

• Installation of new flooring
• Construction of new partitions and doors
• Implementation of fire stopping measures
• Management of a new fire alarm system integrating into the train station complex.
• Installation of a new shop front
• Establishment of a new staff room kitchen
• Construction of a new disabled toilet
• Installation of new shelving units
• Management of direct works, new air handling equipment, including M&E, new fridges, associated plant equipment, IT installation, tills, safe, and signage.

Throughout the project, our team collaborated closely with the Tesco Project Manager & Station Management to ensure seamless coordination and integration of various services. We worked in tandem with the station's existing M&E, security, and fire alarm systems to maintain continuity and efficiency.

The successful completion of the project resulted in the establishment of a fully functional convenience store within the Dundee train station. The new store provides a range of food retail options for commuters and travellers, enhancing the overall convenience and experience at the station. KDM’s team effectively managed the coordination of the project ensuring a timely delivery and successful integration with the station's existing infrastructure.
