Kids Inc. purchased a derelict building in a busy residential area, with a view to opening a children’s Nursey to service the local community. Local Government required that as much of the original building was retained as possible to stay in keeping with the area with shared side access giving security concerns & challenges.
Following the demolition of all but the external & internal walls to an unstable condition by the client’s agent, KDM was appointed as Main Contractor to re-develop the building & grounds.
Design & installation of two 16kw EV charging points for a children’s nursery supplied with 240V mains cable routed by an underground duct.
Scope of works included:
This project was successfully managed by KDM in its entirety including the underground duct works, associated electrical works, & finally testing & commissioning.
KDM engaged with all stakeholders to deliver the project from taking possession of the building remnants to the completion & opening day of the Nursery. Our focus was to deliver a modern efficient facility working within the constraints of the site & conditions.
The fast charger power modules installed were specially designed for high reliability and efficiency with a charge time typically between 0.5-1.5 hours.
A state-of-the-art nursery for in excess of 90 children that have the opportunity for education with industry-leading furniture and environment. A platform for the growth of the local community with minimum disruption but maximum benefit. The customer was happy that they were now reducing their carbon emissions within the community.
