KDM was allocated this project that was deferred until late 2021 due to delay with the CAT A fitout. The Works comprise the refurbishment of an existing retail unit to form internal van parking works to meet AMZL standards and specification.
Scope of Work: The scope of work for this project included the following activities:
Our team were tasked in saving over £1m in Value Engineering the consultants initial design, in addition the project end date was fixed to coincide with the nearby delivery stations temporary parking arrangements.
The key to the project was the internal sequencing of the high level installs, whereby our project team and key stakeholders for the internal work, Sprinklers, M&E (Fire Alarm & Lighting) along with the internal anti slip resin flooring contractors had to operate within the zones set out by the sprinkler contractor. Our agreed zoning plan was the key to ensuring the project completed on time and with limited conflict issues.
The successful completion of the project resulted in the establishment of a fully functional Internal Van storage facility, one of the few built for Amazon in the UK. KDM’s team effectively managed, designed and coordinated the project ensuring a timely delivery and successful integration with the delivery stations operational team.
