For generations, Scotland and England have clashed on the pitch, each vying for victory and national pride. But what happens when this fierce rivalry is infused with camaraderie and goodwill? Well, that's exactly what unfolded in a recent friendly match organised by KDM Group that brought together employees, clients, and a few secret ringers on the Scotland side for an unforgettable showdown.
KDM Group has a passion for football which can be seen through our sponsorship of the Scottish Football Association and investment in the KDM Group Soccer centres, so what other way to bring people together for a day of fun?
Set in KDM Group East End Park, the Scotland vs. England match was more than just a game – it was a competitive battle and a celebration of friendship and sportsmanship. As the teams took to the field, there was an intense sense of excitement and anticipation in the air.
By inviting clients to join the England side and incorporating employees into the Scotland team, we created a unique atmosphere where business was left at the side of the pitch and the rivalry was on.
From the opening whistle, it was clear that both teams were determined to give it their all. The England side displayed impressive skill and teamwork; however, they were no match for the Scotland team, driven by their passion and pride (and our secret ringers), who took 3 goals in the first half of the game.
A short, half-time break took place to talk tactics and for everyone to get their breath back. The second half kicked off; England was not defeated just yet. Their defence was only weakened one more time making it 4-0 to Scotland. Time was disappearing fast and in the 80th minute, England took a goal back making the final scoreline 4-1.
As players from both teams shook hands and exchanged heartfelt congratulations, it was clear that memories were made that would last a lifetime. It also gave us some serious bragging rights.
The next stop was the award ceremony where all the players were awarded a medal for their efforts and for victorious Scotland to lift the trophy, the World Cup. It’s now official, Scotland won the World Cup on Wednesday 1st May 2024.
